About My Work

In the grace of silence I travel inwards to retrieve sensations I have gathered from the mountains, forests and wild spaces around me.

I paint on small wood panels to create intimate icons of meditation. The intimate scale of my work invites the viewer to look closely and explore their own perception of the story. My paintings develop slowly over time by adding and taking away layers of watercolour paint and soft pastel, delving deep into the textured layers of memories.

The titles are intrinsic to each piece so the painting and title together make a visual poem

Each collection of work has a name and tells it's own story.

  • 2022/23 drawing down the moon

When we find ourselves alone in deep silence, we can step aside from the world. We fall under the spell of the moon, feel the heartbeat of the forest and hear the water sing.
In this space, we sense the timeless rhythm of the universe.
